ABOUT ĀHURU MOWAI TRUST

The Āhuru Mōwai Trust is all about providing safe spaces and places for families who have children with extra and special needs.

Places where they can feel supported and understood as they are, without judgement.

The Āhuru Mōwai Trust was established by Founding Trustees Mandy and Paul Latham in 2016 based on the experiences and challenges they have faced while raising their family with extra and special needs, they call it #livingaspecialkindoflife

“We are determined to provide other families with opportunities that weren’t available to us. Places you can go on the days when you’re not feeling brave and courageous to venture out in into the community. These places are where you can gain the confidence to try new things and have positive experiences for the whole family, making your worlds bigger not smaller as your children grow” Paul Latham – Trustee

The Āhuru Mōwai Trust is always looking for ways to advocate for safe spaces across Wellington, and have worked with local business owners and local Councils to make these spaces available hosting 100’s of sensory sessions over the years.

“We fully appreciate there is a lack of respite facilities available for families, and this is an area we are keen to make some progress  in the near future”  Paul Latham
